AWSA-Be proposes Arabic lessons in a mixed and secular environment, in conformity with our values. The Arabic taught is the modern standard variety which is used by the official media and in literature.
The aim of these lessons is to learn Arabic or to improve skills and knowledge in a multicultural environment. The classes are organised in small groups of max. 10 persons, with priority given to oral expression as well as exchanges between students. Classes will evolve around the theme ‘women’, and the pace of every student will be respected. Roundtable discussions are organised for students at the advanced level.
Moreover, we regularly publish a newsletter “AWSA-Club”, which aims at informing people interested in the Arabic language and Arab culture about the different activities in Brussels linked to these themes.
The aim of the Arabic lessons for children is to teach them modern Arabic. In order to make them more playful, pedagogical and didactic tools are used in the lessons: games, presentations, songs… Students will also be encouraged to keep an open mind and to seek dialogue. Gender equality will be respected.
